about this space --

this blog has had several iterations and a few name changes. it started out as ‘too cute to be fat.” then turn into ‘love yourself, during;’ and now - well here you have talia felicia :: beyond the smoke and mirrors.

so here is the thing - all of it was true, all of it was me and ALL OF IT was necessary to get to this space.

for the better part of my adult life (okay the last 13 years or so), i have believed and been told by my peers that i am extremely self-aware. i think this self-awareness has kept me out of trouble and allowed me to be real about who i am, which i think it what allows people to connect with me.

that ability to connect is a gift, i think. i love connecting. and although people drive me up a wall sometimes (even myself); i believe we are built to do life together and to connect.

the title of this blog was birthed in 2017 as the name for my creative intensive for aspiring event planners. during that session i took them beyond the veil of instagram and shared with them the real of being a professional event planner and entrepreneur. trust me, i told the whole truth honey! and while that was a valiant mission (and one I may resurrect someday), it became clear to me that beyond the smoke and mirrors was more than a coaching program for creatives, but the way i lived my life.

in december 2019, while on baecation, i told daniel that i was completely over the culture of instagram stunts and shenanigans. i shared with him that i really want to be a voice that shares the WHOLE story. all the blessings, failures and mishaps - not just the highlights, but the ‘low lights’ too.

there you have it. welcome to talia felicia:: beyond the smoke and mirrors.
